Siemens is looking for the next big idea. Maybe it's yours! Here's your chance to have your ground-breaking design displayed at the Engineers Australia Convention 2014 and win your very own 3D printer. Hurry - entries close 14 November.

The Siemens 3D Challenge

The future value chain is undergoing a revolution. The virtual and real worlds are becoming seamlessly connected to help save time, money and prevent mistakes.

Due to increasing global competition, resource scarcity, decentralisation and individualisation, products will become more personalised, 3D design and printing will be key to enabling this sort of customisation.

With that in mind, we’re opening the challenge to Australia to reach new levels of innovation and engineering technology.

Open to all, we invite individuals or teams to come up with a design in one of these categories:

  • Sustainable Energy

    Energy processes and practices that conserve resources, don’t pollute and are economically sensible.

  • Future of Manufacturing

    Designing and producing products with higher standards, fewer resources and adaptable methods.

  • Intelligent Infrastructure

    Future-proofing power distribution, grid security, mobility solutions and building technologies.

  • Digitalisation

    Merging the physical and virtual worlds to touch every aspect of our daily lives.

Designs will be judged by a panel of experts based on creativity, originality and functionality.

The winning design will be displayed on the Siemens exhibition stand at the Engineers Australia Convention 2014, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, 24-28 November, 2014. Learn more about the event here.
